The arts wasn’t something my family got into,” said the 27-year-old playwright whose play “Cry Old Kingdom” is premiering in Actors Theatre of Louisville’s 2013 Humana Festival of New American Plays.
Augustin’s mother, a former schoolteacher, emphasized education most of all when he was growing up. Nonetheless, he said she has been incredibly supportive of his efforts to become a playwright.
